Loyalfans: How did you get started in the business?
Lady Bellatrix: I began as a professional Dominatrix in London in 2010. After a year and a half or so of “learning the ropes,” I naturally progressed into video production. A lot of big names approached me to shoot with them when I was first starting out, and it took off from there.
Since 2012, I have produced over 1000+ videos, not to mention the countless photo shoots. A lot has changed in the last decade, but one thing remains the same – the ever changing regulations thrown at us. The adult industry will always face backlash of some variety, but the demand will never go away.
What are some things people think are easy about your job but are actually really challenging?
Having to present yourself as if you’re on top of the world for your adoring fans when you’re not feeling up to it [can be challenging]. I’ve gone through break-ups and bereavements and never mentioned a word of it to my public. I’m a very private person so I curate my timeline very carefully. The pandemic was obviously a challenging time for us all, but I just got on with it.
I sell fantasy — not reality — and no one wants to see a broken Dominatrix.
How do you keep up with the workflow and demands of today’s industry?
I try my best to consistent, but it is not always possible. Sometimes life can throw a curve ball at you or other times there can be burnout. It is all about finding the right work/life balance which is easier said than done. We are effectively entrepreneurs so honouring our own schedule, saying no when we have to and taking time to step away madness of online life when need be. Also, I am a firm believer in naps.
Gear-wise, what do you think are the most useful things to have when you’re very first starting out?
As my genre is classical Femdom, a good starter kit would be: thigh high boots, corset, catsuit, and a few implements such as a whip or strap-on.
As time goes on and the money starts rolling in, you can slowly continue to build your collection and start accessorising. I bought a cheap set of lights from Amazon when I first started, and I still use them to this day! But now days, I rarely pay for anything myself because that’s what slaves are for.
My next big “gear upgrade” is in the works. I have ordered two large pieces of furniture from Germany which will arrive next month — slave funded, of course!
What’s one thing you do for work that’s “unexpected”…like, no one does this except YOU?
Hardcore heavy rubber lesbian scenes. As a rule of thumb, most classical Dominas frown upon nudity, but I don’t really care what other people think. I do things my way, and I create the type of content I enjoy.
Over the years I have collaborated with a lot of other kinky women who also enjoy performing XXX scenes in full latex. I wouldn’t say I’m the only one in the industry that produces this sort of content, but there are not a lot of others who do. As I’m a real life latex fetishist, I attract a lot of rubber slaves. So My subscribers will be pleased to hear that I will be bringing back my famous Latex Live Shows every Sunday night starting March 13, 2022.
Working from home can sometimes feel isolating. What do you do to help stave off feelings of loneliness or isolation?
I try to stick to a routine as much as possible. I do certain things on certain days and honour my schedule. I enjoy solitude and if I am around too many people for too long I want to escape. So I don’t often feel lonely or isolated.
Who is your peer mentor, inspiration, or someone you just admire or respect in the industry?
There are so many amazing ladies in this industry it is difficult to narrow it down…
Fetish Liza, The Hunteress, and Mistress Sidonia from The English Mansion were role models when I was first starting out, and they’re all still around. And of course, I must give an honourable mention to Miss Jasmine from Vancouver as we were besties long before either of us got into this industry.
I learnt so much from them all, but moreover they all have unswerving work ethics and have always instilled awe and inspiration in me.
What’s your go-to selfcare activity or down time ritual of choice?
Meditation, getting a massage, eating a nice meal and a lot of wanking.
Besides working, what’s your favorite pastime or hobby?
Pre-pandemic I used to enjoy travelling a lot and hope this year I will be able to do more. I go for at least two 10 kilometre walks per week as it gives me a great excuse to get some fresh air and exercise. It is also a great way to discover areas new areas of Paris off the beaten track.
Is your sign an accurate description of you?
My birthday is April 27, which makes me a Taurus. It is very accurate. I am stubborn, perseverant and resilient.
Taurus has staying power and if my first decade is anything to go by, I’ll be around for a long time to come — and that’s no bull.
