Important Update for UK Creators: New Content Laws Take Effect November 6, 2026

What creators need to know about upcoming changes to adult content laws in England and Wales.

At LoyalFans, we believe staying informed is an important part of running a successful creator business. That’s why we want to bring an upcoming change in UK legislation to your attention.

Starting November 6, 2026, the UK government’s Crime and Policing Act 2026 will make it a criminal offence in England and Wales to possess or publish certain types of adult content.

This is a change in government law, not a new policy introduced by LoyalFans.

What types of content are affected?

The new law covers certain pornographic content that explicitly and realistically depicts:

  • Choking, strangulation, or suffocation
  • Certain penetrative sexual activity between family members, including some situations where performers pretend to be related
  • Sexual activity involving someone who appears to be under 16, including adults pretending to be under 16

The legislation includes specific definitions and exceptions. We encourage creators to review the official guidance to understand what content may be affected.

It’s not just about what you post online!

One of the most important things for creators to understand is that the new law also covers certain content you already have saved privately.

This means that even if you are not currently selling, sharing, or publishing affected content, simply keeping it on your phone, computer, external hard drive, or cloud storage could be a criminal offence in England and Wales starting November 6.

According to the UK government’s guidance, content covered by these new offences must be permanently deleted or otherwise disposed of before the law takes effect. Any ongoing publication of affected content must also stop before that date.

Take time to review your content

If you’re a creator in England or Wales, we encourage you to take some time to look through your existing content, including older recordings, personal archives, and stored files.

Remember, these changes aren’t limited to new content. Content you created or saved in the past may also be affected.

Being informed now gives you an opportunity to understand the changes and take any necessary steps before November 6.

What does this mean for LoyalFans?

We understand that changes like these may raise questions about your content and your LoyalFans account.

At this time, LoyalFans is assessing the relevant legal and regulatory requirements and is unable to provide definitive guidance on any potential operational or policy changes resulting from this legislation.

Any applicable updates will be communicated to creators following further assessment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
