LoyalFans: How did you start in the business, and is it different from what you expected?
DavinaGold: I started this business on a whim! I’ve previously been employed in the marketing field and loved working with social media so I thought I’d give it a try! It certainly is different than what I first thought as it takes a lot of time, strategy, and effort to be successful.
We all know that being an online content creator is a 24/7 job. How do you keep up with the workflow and demands of today’s industry?
Time management! This is so important so you don’t get burned out! I pick one day to create all my content for the week that way my evenings are more open for other requests. I also use schedulers so I can schedule my content ahead of time so I’m not trying to post last minute.
People often feel A LOT of pressure to get a bunch of gear when they first start creating content online. What do you think are the most useful things to have when you’re very first starting out?
So my first item/s was a greenscreen frame — not the actually greenscreen because it was expensive — some sheets so I could hang them to change my background, and a box light for lighting. I used that for a long time so I didn’t have a messy background. Having a phone or camera that can take good quality pictures is also a must have!
How do you foster a good relationship with your fans?
I post constantly so I have a presence, but in terms of messaging I let them come to me. I don’t want to force people into conversation because some people are shy. However, if I get a message I respond asap. Sometimes just asking a simple question like “how are you” can make someone’s day.
What’s your sign?! So you think it’s an accurate description of you?
I am a cancer! I think it’s really fitting because I can be emotional sometimes, but I’m also straightforward and I am loyal until the end for friends and family.
