They’re the shivers of smoke I give myself every day. I love the smell of smoke on my body, on my fingernails. That aroma that wafts from my gasping mouth and through my smoke-gold hair. I love these trash coursing through my burning arteries. I crave that tactile sensation on my eager lips. I twirl the cigarette between my fingers over and over, cigarette after cigarette, pack after pack. Here’s the nicotine settling on my fingers—I can see it; can you see it too? Look at my right index finger; it smells so good. But how the hell much have I smoked to make it like this? I’m not crazy—or maybe I am. I love all of this. I really, really love it. I smoke the cigarette down to the filter, and then I let you admire that dark, irresistible color.
