The Mansion Party
It is an hour and a half in and already, I regret coming here. Thankfully, the crowd isn't crazy but it is a crowd nonetheless. I should have stayed home and told my friend I had plans. I have no idea where she is. Thank goodness I drove here myself. I feel so underdressed. Everyone else is wearing suits, tuxedos, and fancy gowns. Here I am with a simple, black maxi dress on. Good thing I wore plenty of accessories, I guess. I lean against the wall, anxious, cranky, my eyes scanning the room for an exit. To my right, what seems like a mile away, is the double doors leading to outside. The very second I see an opening in the crowd, I make a beeline toward the doors. I could almost taste the night air outside. The taste of freedom. Without warning, a soft hand wraps around my arm and pulls me to the left. My first instinct is to fight this individual. The audacity of them grabbing me like that! But I froze when I saw who stood in front of me. You. Have I seen you before? Maybe or maybe not...
