Pickles (@itssrtapickles), an amazing alternative model and Suicide Girl, showed me the ropes while I was working as a stripper in Spain.<\/p>\n It was pretty much what I expected — lots of work, lots of creativity, and heaps of fun. As I evolved, so did my content and online outlets — better gear, more consistency, and so on — but my love for creating weird, aesthetically pleasing and mind-fucking content has stayed pretty much the same.<\/p>\n How do you keep up with the 24\/7 workflow demands that come with today\u2019s industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n I truly don\u2019t. I chose this lifestyle because of the freedom that comes with it, not to submit to a schedule. I create content when the inspiration strikes me and the time is right. It\u2019s kind of batch creating, I suppose, but I don\u2019t keep to a particular schedule.<\/p>\n Creativity requires long periods of rest, and I like to indulge in them. The minute I\u2019m tied to someone else\u2019s idea of what I should be doing, I\u2019m no longer interested in doing it. So why should I? I crave freedom and pursuing my own interests and couldn\u2019t care less about the industry\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n With that being said, I know that consistency in putting out content is key, so if you\u2019re a being of chaos like me, don\u2019t put out the content as soon as you make it: keep a steady flow coming out, even if you\u2019re not putting out heaps of content at once, and that way you will always have content to post.<\/p>\n What are some things people think are easy about your job but are actually really challenging?<\/strong><\/p>\n Like any artistic endeavor, people heavily misjudge two things: the technical aspect and the creative aspect.<\/p>\n Technically speaking and especially when you start out (or if you\u2019re a control freak like me), you will more than likely be filming on your own. That\u2019s a lot of skills to hone: scripting, photography, lighting, video, photo and audio editing. There\u2019s tutorials online, of course, but it is hard to master, especially whilst you\u2019re trying to discover your own voice or brand.<\/p>\n It\u2019s difficult to master your own creative process, as well. You need to keep a clear focus whilst letting the edges blur a bit, so you can find where your artistic vision lies. And you have to do it time and time and time and time again. It\u2019s not for the faint of heart!<\/p>\n How do you keep coming up with new ideas for your content and fans?<\/strong><\/p>\n My fans, other creators, vintage erotica magazines, my PhD research, and summerian poetry. I love to reinvent the wheel and add some flavor to it.<\/p>\n I love recording audio, it\u2019s a very intimate experience. In terms of video, I love to shoot humiliation and denial videos. It\u2019s my natural state of being.<\/p>\n What is the funniest thing that\u2019s happened to you while working?<\/strong><\/p>\n Besides the typical story of a delivery driver interrupting a shoot? I once had a crow enter through my window while I was recording. Nice enough chap, but he did make a mess of my kitchen and it took me a bit to convince him to leave.<\/p>\n What do you think are the most useful things to have when you\u2019re very first starting out? What’s the best “first big upgrade” you can think of?<\/strong><\/p>\n Good lighting will make all the difference whether you\u2019re shooting with a Leica or your iPhone, so get a setup that you understand and can handle yourself. Softboxes are great to start out and with two of them you can do quite a few interesting things. A tripod will probably come in handy, as well! And if you\u2019re shooting at home, figure out your background. Do you want a fabric background, or maybe you just want some atrezzo items? That will make your content look much more intentional.<\/p>\n As for me, I want to upgrade my current photo camera. I\u2019ve been wanting to get back into serious photography for a while, so I will be getting a nice reflex in the coming months — can\u2019t keep myself away from a 50mm for too long!<\/p>\n Best tech or gear hack?<\/strong><\/p>\n Make do with what you have! Don\u2019t jump into a massive investment that may not pay off. If you can make it work with an iPhone, wait until you\u2019re making money consistently before upgrading. Make sure the way you run it suits you, and don\u2019t let your ego get in the way of making money. Be curious, be brave, and stick with it. The only way to fuck up is to give up. Organize locally and don\u2019t be a dick to (people in) your community.<\/p>\n What are your 3 – 5 must-have work-related health and beauty products?<\/strong><\/p>\n A good skincare routine will do wonders for your on-camera appearance! Make sure to have a body exfoliating product at hand to keep the skin smooth (and remember that chemical exfoliation is kinder than that body wash with big chunks of apricot seed that rub your skin). Hand and foot lotion to keep those babies smooth and you are all set.<\/p>\n What\u2019s your go-to selfcare activity or down time ritual of choice?<\/strong><\/p>\n Checking out my horoscope, investments, and perhaps some daemonic invocation. You know, the usual!<\/p>\n Working from home can sometimes feel isolating. What do you do to help stave off feelings of loneliness or isolation?<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking on the phone with my fans works wonders. I love being on my own, and I enjoy spending time with a book. If all else fails, there is always the chance to book a holiday with the girlfriends.<\/p>\n Who is your peer mentor, inspiration, or someone you just admire or respect in the industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n There are many amazingly creative people in this industry. I think it would be silly not to mention Madame Caramel aka the Nubian Matriarch (@nubianMatriarch), who is a staple in the London scene and beyond. She is an incredibly generous mentor! Then of course, Expensive Hoe (@EXPENSIVE_HOE) is someone who is a consistent trailblazer when it comes to fashion, photography and videography. Finally, I don\u2019t think that monetised online content would be where it is today without Bardot Smith (@ICONOCLASTIAE), who is also one of the most creative minds in the industry, if not the world.<\/p>\n Is your sign an accurate description of you?<\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019m a Leo sun, which is an extremely accurate description of me: I\u2019m self-absorbed, glorious, and have a penchant for drama.
