Mindy had a 2020 like most of us. And as we know, when life gives you last year… welp, we make that lemonade and get online!<\/p>\n

“I started in the business the way a ton of people started,” she shared. “We were quarantined, and I got bored.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing is ever exactly as one expects though; and for Mindy, becoming a content creator online was no exception.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a lot different than I expected!” she enthused. “I thought it would be something fun to keep me busy for a couple months while the world was shut down, but when I went back to my ‘real’ job, I didn\u2019t wanna quit! It was too exciting and fun. I also had no idea the work you really need to put into content and marketing.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mindy took some time out to share a bit about her experiences as an online creator over the past year — what a wild wonderful ride it’s been!<\/p>\n

Loyalfans: As the world is opening back up, how do you keep up with the workflow and demands of the industry?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her Highness Mindy\/JailbirdMJ:<\/strong> It\u2019s about balance. I try to shoot a ton of content at one time — lots of clothing changes and different perspectives for the shots. I use scheduling tools a lot so I can assure I am updating content frequently. I also have \u201ccontent creator\u201d time slots daily, even if it\u2019s just 30 minutes here or there to check DMs, requests, comments, and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are some other things people think are easy about your job but are actually really challenging? \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coming up with actual content is not easy. It\u2019s not about taking pictures in different outfits. It’s about coming up with themes, new ideas, and what should be a video and what should be pictures only. It\u2019s also hard to develop a connection with subscribers when you\u2019re actually alone filming and don\u2019t have an actual person to engage with there in person.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was your first big online goal you wanted to hit?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have had tons of goals: First 10 subscribers, first big tip, first $1000 earned!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My two new targets are I want 100 subscribers on Loyalfans, and I want a $100 tip. Then once I get those, I will set bigger goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides working, what\u2019s your favorite pastime or hobby?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m an avid gardener. Vegetables, flowers, inside or outside — I love it all. I\u2019m super proud of some of my rarer house plants and my carnivorous pitcher plant that kills every fly that comes in my house!<\/span><\/p>\n

Is your sign an accurate description of you?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am a Virgo and it\u2019s pretty accurate! I\u2019m an extremely hard worker, I am very stubborn and a perfectionist. Where I differ is that Virgos tend to be patient and organized\u2026 I missed those traits somehow.<\/span><\/p>\n
